It is in every pro painter’s gear and is treated with PaintBlock technology for gorgeous results.FrogTape was created to be used alongside latex paint formulas. PaintBlock forms a micro-barrier along the tapes’ edges by chemically reacting with the water in the latex. This is a special feature that helps prevent the paint from bleeding. What is PaintBlock Technology? This is a cross-linked, SAP, or sodium-based Superabsorbent Polymer. This polymer can retain and absorb generous amounts of liquid compared to its own mass. This technology has been used for years in many daily items including paper towels, feminine hygiene and diaper products. Why Is FrogTape in a plastic canister? Since masking tape is a vital tool, it will last longer if kept clean and dry. The canister packaging prevents the FrogTape from being damaged while keeping debris and dirt off. The empty canisters are excellent to recycle or use in your shop for nails, screws, bolts, nuts, etc. What is the FrogTape Delicate Surface timeline for leaving on my walls and trim? FrogTape Delicate Surface Painter’s Tape will remove without depositing a residue from newly painted surfaces (a minimum of 24 hours), wallpaper and faux paint finish for up to two months or sixty days before painting. To prevent the risk of tearing fresh paint, we recommend removing the masking tape immediately after your painting is done. How long can FrogTape Multi-Surface be left on a surface that is in direct sunshine? This type of FrogTape offers seven days of UV resistance. It is recommended that the masking tape is removed immediately after painting for the cleanest results. How long can FrogTape Multi-Surface stay on my trim or walls? The FrogTape Multi-Surface painter’s tape will come off residue-free for the majority of surfaces for 21 days or 7 days in direct sunshine prior to painting. It is recommended that masking tape is taken off right after your painting is finished to minimize the risk of accidentally tearing fresh paint. How long should I leave FrogTape on before removing it from the surface? It is best to take the tape off when the paint is still wet. If the paint has dried and it is pulling up with the tape, or notice that the paint is cracking down the paint line as you’re removing the tape. Use a razor blade to score along the tape’s edge before removing. Breaking the seal between the tape and the paint provides easier removal and a cleaner line. Why is the FrogTape not sticking to the walls? If your walls have been recently painted and your tape isn’t sticking, this may mean the paint hasn’t completely cured. If the surface was improperly prepared, Another reason it can lift off the wall is if it was stretched as you applied it. It is vital to prepare the surface properly by cleaning it to ensure it is dust-free. Using a wall primer first is useful to make sure the paint coat will be bonded well for pristine results.
